4-H Recylces

“I pledge…my hands to larger service…for my club, my community, my country, and my world.” Community Service has always been a component of the 4-H program as described in the 4-H pledge. Belmont County 4-H clubs have been participating in a county-wide community service project with the Jefferson/Belmont Regional Solid Waste Authority since 2004.

Higher Learning Collaboration

Higher education in Belmont County is reaching out to the community in the form of the newly created Higher Learning Collaboration formed by a joint effort of Belmont Technical College, Ohio State University Extension and Ohio University Eastern Campus. The collaboration will sponsor a series of research based presentations, free and open to the public, which will address current issues of concern facing our community and society. The first event will be “Global Climate Change Update 2008: A Review of the Evidence and Outlook to the Future” on Tuesday, April 29, 7:00 p.m. in Horizon Hall at Belmont Technical College.
