4-H Camp

The 4-H Camping program offers opportunities to all 4-H members. Belmont County 4-H Junior Camp is for youth ages 9-13. 4-H Camp provides lots of opportunities for fun and learning. While at camp participants will have the opportunity to participate in many traditional camp activities such as swimming, boating, nature hikes, campfires, and crafts. Youth will also have the opportunity to participate in many special activities planned by the camp counselors such as line dancing, camp songs, and tribal challenge games. Each year, a different camp theme is selected. 4-H members age 14 may apply to be a counselor-in-training while teens 15 and older may apply for a camp counselor position.

4-H Camp Piedmont
Have you ever been to 4-H Camp Piedmont? Check out 4-H Camp Piedmont's web site. 4-H Camp Piedmont is located off State Route 800 in the northwest corner of Belmont County.
Directions to 4-H Camp Piedmont: Take I-70 West to Exit 202 (Barnesville, State Route 800). Take State Route 800 North approximately 9 miles. Turn right onto 4-H Camp Road and follow the signs to 4-H Camp Piedmont. It is approximately 2.5 miles off of State Route 800.
Frequently Asked Questions about 4-H Camp
Where will I sleep?
Sleeping facilties are wooden cabins that sleep 10-14 people on single bunk beds. Boys and girls cabins are on separate sides of the camp dining hall with their own bathroom facility. All cabins are located near the center of camp. Campers may request to stay in the same cabin as a friend. At least two counselors will be placed in each cabin.
What will I eat?
Home-style meals are served three times a day in the large dining hall. An evening snack is also a camp tradition.
Do I need any extra money?
All camper meals, accident insurance and program expenses are covered in your camp application fee. Camp Piedmont merchandise is also available for purchase during registration on the first day of camp. Check your camp registration materials to confirm costs.
Who plans camp?
Trained counselors, adult volunteers and Extension staff plan and conduct the camping programs.
Who supervises camp?
Trained teen counselors are supervised by 4-H Youth Development professionals and adult volunteers. A certified health professional will be our camp nurse.
What should I bring to camp?
The items you wish to bring to camp will vary depending on the child. However, remember that you are sharing space with many other campers and only camping for three days and four nights, so pack accordingly.
Suggested items to bring to camp include:

Wear comfortable clothes that can get wet or dirty enough for 3 nights and 4 days
Sturdy shoes for hiking

No sandals allowed (only at pool)
