Parent Involvement in School Wellness
Parents interested in influencing school policies regarding physical fitness and nutrition, should contact their local school district and ask about being involved with the school’s Wellness Committee and Wellness Plan. According to legislative mandates included in the WIC Reorganization Act of 2004, all Ohio Schools that receive federal money for food programs must have put a Wellness Plan in place by the first day of school 2006. Contact your school to find out what they are doing about Wellness.
